Corrosion of valves is widely used in a chemical or electrochemical environment. As the “corrosion” phenomenon appeared in metal and spontaneous interaction among the surrounding environment, therefore, the environment used isolation or more non-metallic composite materials, then become a common concern.

It is well known that the corrosion damage of metals has a considerable influence on the function, duration, reliability and service life of valves. The action of mechanical and corrosive factors on metals greatly increases the total wear of the contact surface.

During operation, the frictional surfaces cause wear and tear as a result of simultaneous mechanical action and chemical or electrochemical interaction between the metal and the environment. On the valve, the pipeline of complex climatic conditions such as work; oil, natural gas and oil water medium hydrogen sulfide, carbon dioxide and some organic acids to increase the destructive power of the metal surface, which quickly lose their ability to work.

Due to chemical corrosion of metals depends on the temperature, the friction parts of the mechanical load, lubricating materials contained in the sulfide and acid stability and media exposure duration and the process of catalytic metal nitride, Corrosion Erosion of material elements of the metal conversion speed and so on. Therefore, the anti-corrosion method of metal valves and the application of synthetic valve materials, valve industry has become one of the themes of the study.

A metal valve corrosion, can be understood as the coated metal valve to protect against corrosion protection layer conditions (such as paint, lubricating materials and so on), whether the valve is in the manufacturing storage transport.

The method of metal valve corrosion protection depends on the required protection period, transportation and storage conditions, valve construction characteristics and materials, of course, to take into account the economic effects of lifting the anti-corrosion.

There are 4 main methods of corrosion protection for metal valves and their parts:
1. Put volatile corrosion inhibitors into the atmosphere of steam
2. Use blocked water and alcohol solution.
3. Apply the anticorrosive coating to the surface of the valve and its parts.
4 apply the thin film or polymer of the blocked film to the surface of the valve and its parts.
